Cedar Pergola, Full Length of the House
Cedar posts and rafters over the back patio — outdoor fireplace at one end, porch swing at the other.
Real Work — Before & After
This is what we do, before anything else — real jobs for real customers across Dallas–Fort Worth. Swipe sideways through the work, and on any photo with a handle, drag it to compare before and after.

Cedar posts and rafters over the back patio — outdoor fireplace at one end, porch swing at the other.

What was wrongAn avocado-green tub, glued-on wall panels scarred with adhesive, and a hole cut through the back wall.
What it becameA walk-in shower in marble-look panels — frameless glass, black hardware, a fold-down seat and grab bars on both walls.

What was wrongThe tear-out, up close: old boards lifted, the frame underneath checked board by board before anything new went down.
What it becameNew decking run straight the full length of the house, and a railing that keeps the view of the yard wide open.

The same shower at the start: avocado-green tub, glued-on panels scarred with adhesive, and a hole cut through the back wall.

The finished shower the way you first see it — frameless glass, fold-down seat, marble-look panels through the door.

Marble-look panels floor to ceiling, fold-down seat, grab bars, matte black fixtures.

Travertine throughout, with recessed niches and a teak fold-down seat.

Rain head and hand shower, two recessed niches, and a grab bar set into the travertine-look panels.

Bold black wall panels with built-in corner shelving.

Walk-in tub set and finished, with grab bar and black faucets.

What was wrongA plain white fiberglass tub doing nothing for the room around it.
What it becameA deep soaking tub wrapped in marble-look panels with nickel fixtures — the same footprint, a different room.

What was wrongStripped back to studs — old panels off, plumbing exposed, blocking going in for the new walls.
What it becameBold blue-gray marble-look panels over a new white pan, with a hand shower on a slide bar.

The same shower mid-build — fresh moisture-resistant board on every wall before the marble-look panels went on.

What was wrongRot had taken the porch structure — opened up, it all had to come out.
What it becameA rebuilt porch, solid and finished, carrying the front of the house again.

Why the porch had to be rebuilt: rot through the rafters and roof decking, exposed once the top came off.

What was wrongAn open covered patio with an outdoor bar — pleasant in good weather, unusable the rest of the year.
What it becameA closed-in room: board-and-batten siding run dead straight, two new windows trimmed out clean, finished like it was always part of the house.

Between tear-out and finished surface: new joists run straight the full length of the house, blocked and level.

Posts, beams and bracing under the rebuilt deck — the structure the new surface stands on.

The full span of it — posts and beams carrying the deck the length of the house.

New decking and black metal railing, furniture back in place — the view from the house side.

Chase siding repaired, sealed and finished.

New decking, railing and steps run the full length of the house.

King-post trusses and solid cedar posts carrying a new gabled cover over the back patio — the roof tied into the house roofline, built for long afternoons out by the pool.

Going upThe cover framed and sheathed, still standing on temporary posts.
What it becameSolid cedar posts set and the gable finished in board-and-batten, painted to match the house.

The roof of the same cover going together — engineered LVL beams carrying hand-cut rafters.

Roof decked and the gable sheathed — the cover closed in before finish work.

The finished cover from the other side — cedar posts, painted gable, roof tied into the house.

Board-and-batten run straight across the gable, finished and painted.

What was wrongA living-room closet standing open on tired doors, in the middle of the room everyone sits in.
What it becameTwo pairs of white paneled doors hung clean and even, with a new light bar above them.

What was wrongNew cabinets and counters in — and a bare wall where the kitchen should have come together.
What it becameA gray linear mosaic run dead straight and carried around the corner without a break in the pattern.

What was wrongA window where the room needed a door — no way out to the backyard but around the house.
What it becameA sliding glass door cut through the wall and finished inside and out, opening the room onto the yard.

The same conversion mid-finish: slider set and trimmed, walls in paint prep around it.

The job didn’t stop at the doors. A wood deck went in off the new sliders — decking down, railing up — photographed the night it came together, by work light.

What was wrongThe old six-panel door had done its years — weather-worn and scuffed, sitting in a frame with the paint letting go.
What it becameA new 34×76 combo door with an oval glass window — set plumb, trimmed out clean and sealed against the weather.

What was wrongCeiling cut open to reach the damage — joists, insulation and ductwork exposed.
What it becameNew drywall set, taped and mudded, ready for texture and paint.

What was wrongA window in a red-brick wall — the old screen door already off and leaning beside it.
What it becameBrick cut, sliding door set plumb, trim finished — the same wall, a new way out.

Where it startedBare framing on a dirt lot in Deer Creek Estates — walls, gables and roof structure.
What it becameA finished home: brick, siding and shingles complete.

Where it startedFirst-floor walls standing on the slab of a wooded lot — every room of the house readable in studs before a single sheet of decking went on.
What it becameThe same house closed in and finished: the framing and dried-in shell carried through to black-framed window walls and a long covered porch. Stonework by others; the structure underneath it is ours.

Same build, other end: garage wing framed, sheathed and roof-decked.

Board-and-batten siding and a long tiled porch running the finished wing.

T&G ceiling and heavy beam over the tiled porch we framed and built out — stonework by others.

Where it startedAn empty metal building — corrugated panels and red iron, nothing inside but the slab.
What it becameFramed living space inside the shell: stud walls, window and door openings, a loft overhead and the rooms of a house taking shape on polished concrete.

Trusses up and the roof taking shape on a new build.

Wrapped, roof decked and dried in.

Steel and interior work on a past commercial project.

The underside of that custom home’s porch — T&G boards over heavy beams, finished clean.

Inside the same build — engineered beams carrying hand-cut roof framing.

Curved ceiling framing and arched doorways — the detail work inside a custom build.

Joists fanned and cut to the curve of a round ceiling.

Stringers, treads and rail framed in on a new build.

Steel frame of a metal building raised and braced — from our metal-building work.

Who You’re Hiring
Frisco Tucker came up through homebuilding — running framing crews on new homes around Glen Rose — before founding Blue Star Pros Contracting & Renovations, now DFW based. That background is still in the work: measure twice, build it solid, and leave it straight. Structural work — framing, beams, posts, repairs and rebuilds — is still the heart of the company: it is the work we want most, and after years of building houses from the slab up, it is the work that comes most naturally to us.
Today Blue Star Pros handles structural work, repairs, renovations, and property maintenance for homeowners and property-management companies across Dallas–Fort Worth. We take on work of all sizes: a single work-order repair gets the same care as a full renovation, and for larger projects we bring in additional crew and coordinate the trades the job requires — so you get the capacity the project needs, with one company accountable from quote to completion.
The standard is simple, and it is the reason property managers keep sending work orders: done right the first time. Coming back to redo a job wastes your time and ours — so it gets done right before it gets called done.
Call or email and tell us what is broken, what you are planning, or what needs structural attention — sagging, leaning, cracked or rotted framing included — or send over a work order, and we will take it from there. Small repair or large project, we’ll put the right crew together for the job.
